Atlas Synthetic Shingle Underlayment

improveit home remodeling

Atlas Roofing has recently introduced its new Summit 60 Synthetic Underlayment for shingles. The Susan G. Komen foundation will be receiving $2 from every roll purchased of the underlayment for the duration of the two-week period. These special pink-colored rolls, which will be embossed and branded with pink ribbons, will be made available to contractors through Atlas Roofing distributors.

Summit 60 is a great choice for roof systems with slopes between 4:12 and 7:12. If you want double coverage, use an underlayment 24” in thickness and fasteners through both layers. The overlapping is necessary because the underlayment needs to be secured by a tarpaulin, which is an unsightly sag. Summit 60 will protect your deck and prevent water damage.

home office remodel ideas before and after

Summit 60 underlayment offers excellent moisture resistance. Its UV protection and water resistance will protect your roof from ice and water. It keeps water from reaching the decking. It is made from polymeric scrim that is more durable than regular felt. It provides greater strength and reduces slippage between the roof sheathing and the underlayment. The additional benefits of Summit 60 include enhanced walkability during installation and sixty-day UV protection.

Before you start, make sure it is correctly installed. First, determine what type of roof deck it is. If your roof deck is ventilated, you can then install Summit (r-60). If your slope is a 4:12- or 7:12 slope you can install summit (r) 60 with double coverage. The overlap between the layers should not exceed 24 inches. Avoid leakage and rot by using plastic caps that have a minimum of 1 inch diameter and 1 inch length.

Summit 60 was designed to increase the roof's lifespan and reduce water and UV penetration. It offers superior UV protection and water resistance. It reduces slippage between the underlayment and the roof sheathing. The underlayment is long-lasting and durable. It's also extremely walkable. The synthetic underlayment has been UV-coated to increase strength and durability.

kitchen makeovers on a budget

Summit (r-60 should be applied on clean, solid roof decks before applying synthetic underlayment. It is a double-coverage method. In this case, you need to make sure that the sheets are installed correctly. An ideal length for overlapping is 24 inches, not four. Adhesives can be used to attach the layers. Summit (r. 60) should only be installed by a licensed roofing contractor.

You should also consider the cost of selling your property if you plan to move soon after the renovations are completed.
  5. Where do I start? There's no right or incorrect place when it comes down to where to start. But, we recommend you pick something you love to work on. It will motivate you to work harder and reduce procrastination. You should also avoid areas that require extensive maintenance. If your living area is constantly cluttered with dust and dirt, you should not attempt to redesign it.
